Introduction of some application maintenance and common troubleshooting matters of labeling machine

The labeling machine is non-standard equipment, and its operation requires a certain level of professional technology. Otherwise, it will directly affect the efficient and normal use of the equipment. Therefore, the operation of the labeling machine must be performed by a technician who has received operation training.

Nowadays, many companies use labeling machines to improve their productivity. Therefore, manufacturers choose specialized automatic labeling machines to label their products. However, many manufacturers do not understand the machinery and have learned to operate the labeling machine, but they often neglect the daily maintenance of the labeling machine. There are some tricks in the middle. Let's take a look at it together:

Make the labeling machine perform better and increase the service life. First of all, the maintenance of the automatic labeling machine must be cleaned up. The labeling machine is very easy to suck in the dust during operation, so the dust on the labeling machine must be cleaned up on time. When the labeling machine is temporarily left unused, the power supply should be unplugged and covered with a dust cloth to prevent dust from falling on the labeling machine. In addition, the high-temperature belt of the labeling machine also needs to be decontaminated on time better to ensure the high-quality operation of the labeling machine. Secondly, do not forget to apply some lubricating oil in the maintenance of the labeling machine. A certain amount of lubricating oil should be applied to the labeling machine after long-term operation.

Many parts of the automatic labeling machine, such as transmission gears, rolling bearings, and transmissions, are prone to rust and wear after being applied for a while. The lubricating oil can ensure the smoothness of all parts of the labeling machine. The staff pointed out that the labeling machine should be coated with some lubricating oil after 48 hours of continuous operation. The automatic labeling machine should be maintained on time after running for a certain period. On the one hand, it ensures that the labeling machine runs well, and at the same time, it can increase the service life of the labeling machine.

Application of labeling machine safety matters

Do not use in the following environments.

i.    Where the temperature changes drastically

ii.   Where the humidity is too high, and dew is generated

iii.  Where the vibration or shock is very strong

iv.  Where there is a lot of dust

v.   Where water, oil, or chemicals are splashed

vi.  Where there are explosive and flammable hazardous materials

Labeling process solution

Assembly line access→separate spacing→conveying→product inspection→labeling→→customer production line

i.    The bottles are connected to the labeling machine from the customer's assembly line.

ii.   The feeding mechanism separates the spacing of the bottles.

iii.  Driven by the conveyor belt, the bottle automatically moves to the right labeling mechanism and enters the topping mechanism.

iv.  Entering the detection position, the electric eye detects the bottle, and the measured object signal is fed back to the PLC.

v.   The traction motor rotates to send out the label and stick it on the bottle.

vi.  The labeling mechanism overwrites the two labeling sides of the bottle.

vii. The labeled bottles are transported into the customer assembly line.

Common troubleshooting

1. Bottom paper breakage: 

The bottom paper breakage is closely related to the quality of the label bottom paper, the scratching of the bottom paper in the label traction path, and the label adhesion.

Check if the backing paper is cut. If the backing paper is cut, you need to replace the high-quality backing paper. It is recommended to use glassine bottom paper, and the label supplier is required to control the depth of die-cutting so that the bottom paper cannot be damaged.

Check whether there are scratches during the label detour, and eliminate the scratch factors.

If the label sticks, the label is easy to tear. Control the length of the next label to ensure that it does not stick to the labeled product.

2. The labeling deviation exceeds the accuracy requirements: 

the label deviation and the label tape are misaligned, the label tape direction is not parallel to the product conveying direction, the traction wheel is slippery, the product positioning detection is inaccurate, the label is not attached to the product along with the labeling roller, and the product error is few. These factors are related. Check the above factors, and then solve them in a targeted manner.

If the label tape goes off-track, loosen the traction mechanism, and pull the label back and forth to let it go straight automatically. After the label is aligned, clamp the limit rings on both sides to correct the label.

The direction of the label tape is not parallel to the direction of the product conveying, and it can be parallelized by adjusting the inclination of the labeling head.

The traction wheel is slipping, the traction wheel is worn, and the traction wheel locking screw is loosened. For both reasons, the traction wheel locking screw can be tightened.

Product error. In the product's production process, the margin error will cause the labeling deviation, which can be solved only by controlling the product quality.

3. Continuous bidding: 

continuous bidding and incomplete bidding are related to the detection sensitivity of the electric eye. Adjust the sensitivity. For the adjustment method, please refer to the previous chapter on electric eye adjustment.

If you cannot solve the problem after adjusting the sensor, the label may be out of the applicable range of the sensor, or the sensor is damaged, you need to consult the manufacturer.

Another reason is that the label tape is misaligned, and the sensor does not detect the label. Just adjust the sensor to the detection position back and forth.

4. The bottom paper is loose at the peeling label

The slack of the bottom paper is related to the low traction speed and slippage of the traction mechanism. If the traction speed is too low, it can be solved by increasing the traction speed.

If the traction mechanism slips, tighten the locking screw of the traction roller until the bottom paper does not slip.

In addition, pay attention to whether the drive belt behind the rewinding shaft is broken.
